To The Slow Dancer

whatever happened to slow dancing?
nobody slow dances anymore.
no more lights going low
as a love song croons it's way around/
between couples in a moving embrace.
not grinding or groping
rather
her hands around his neck
his hands on her waist
her hand on his shoulder
his hand on the small of her back
his hand holding hers
stepping side to side
stepping forward and backward
cheek to cheek
swaying in time to melodious rhythm
whatever happened to slow dancing?
the moment between
hard bumping thumping bass
squealing electric guitar
when the words become softer
the instruments soothing.
when
,for the briefest of moments,
you may feel like time has stopped
and only the two of you are in it.
it is a moment like that
which lodges itself in your memory
to be kept forever.
whatever happened to slow dancing?
nobody slow dances anymore
so let's have our own party
and bring slow dancin' back.

Ohmygosh, i like this one! and i sympathize. seriously, where is the slow dancing? that was the good stuff...those "slow jams" or classic crooners, from Frank Sinatra to Boyz II Men.

Gosh. i guess that's what the elder folks meant by "good 'ol days", eh?

...i think i'll be nosing around here quite a bit.

Wow Adalia.
You paint a beautiful picture of potential... with very few words.
