A vast
limitless ocean
touching the shore
of his heart
turned bottomless well
devoid of water
longing
to be filled.

A complete woman
world traveled
heart wise
embracer of solitude
turned freightened child
aching
in his absence
fearing he will vanish.

The clingy girl-woman
must
lay to rest
timeworn memories
of abandonment
to embrace recollections
of bonds unbroken.

Stepping from child to woman,
forsaking the well
to reclaim the ocean,
she comes to him
not with fear
but with integrity.
