Soul Friends
In a phone call
I laid out the burdens of my heart
and you listened without judgement.
Through the miles of wire
I felt the love
and warmth of your heart.
You listened
as tears fell like great stones
from my eyes
and I could feel your hand
reach through the phone
to wipe them away.
At no time is one more
aware of the indescribable
bond of spiritual friendship
than when such a person lovingly
shares the burdens of your
aching heart.
Truly,
soul friends are wonderous
gifts from God for which
to be deeply thankful.
In a phone call
I laid out the burdens of my heart
and you listened without judgement.
I laid out the burdens of my heart
and you listened without judgement.
Through the miles of wire
I felt the love
and warmth of your heart.
You listened
as tears fell like great stones
from my eyes
and I could feel your hand
reach through the phone
to wipe them away.
At no time is one more
aware of the indescribable
bond of spiritual friendship
than when such a person lovingly
shares the burdens of your
aching heart.
Truly,
soul friends are wonderous
gifts from God for which
to be deeply thankful.
In a phone call
I laid out the burdens of my heart
and you listened without judgement.

yay! a much "better" poem to end my reading on today.
nice to see some hope for the Adalia of 2005 (or whenever this was actually written).
