Birthday Solitude

the immovable sky
dances in the ocean's rise and fall.
colors from a setting sun
nestle between waves and rippling water.
clouds reflecting
the last of the days rays are
whiffs
swirls
puffs.
as day surrenders to night
there is beauty in the darkening blue
and sounds of the ocean.

Dreams

like wisps of smoke
my dreams appear
and fade
like transparent water
which flows continuously
collecting into a vast
ocean of unrealised
dreams
stretching before me
like an endless road
on which weary feet
must travel until
freed from the world
of useless dreaming
the fulfilled dreams of some
cannot be the fulfilled dreams of all
like dreaming for an oasis
when the desert is your destiny
you have to come to accept
the beauty of the latter
most dreams are no more
than idle fancy
that become hateful thoughts
what are dreams anyway other than
wisps of smoke
that appear
and fade?

1 year 3 months in Korea

Come dance with me
on the red, yellow, orange
sky beneath the pale moon.
Come dance with me
in the depths of the night sky
and morning's dawn.
Come dance with me
as time between laughter
and love.
Come dance with me
knowing friendship
love, trust, joy.
Come dance with me
and fill the depths of our hearts.
Come dance with me
and know friendship.

5 months in Korea

Passion and fire and cannot be taught.
Sacrifice and courage cannot be learned.
Faith and steadfastness cannot be memorized.
To sit at the feet of great men,
to take in the lessons of amazing women,
cannot bestow spirit fire on the human form.
Passion appears when there is something to fight for,
to sacrifice everything to.
Fire is enkindled when the coldness
is no longer acceptable.
Faith is uncovered when the heart
is broken unveiling the seed.
Steadfastness is attained when the
winds of doubt are nearly victorious.
May wisdoms are gained through pain.
God alone knows the station of the soul.
Finding courage to submit to Him
is what heals,
is what saves.

2 Months In Korea

The clock ticks on.
The earth is covered in
the quiet of early morn.
My pen will not stop writing,
my mind be still.
My heart is full
with the simplest need
to say...
"Greater is God than every great one."
...good-night.

Never Had Time To Give Response Deserved- The Non-Apology

just a quick message; i read your email with interest and appreciation for the reflection time it induced. i will write again before long when i have time to give it the response it deserves.

in the meantime, may i acknowledge that i've come to the realization that i played a heavy role for you in turning your life upside-down and that my choices and actions did not honor what we had, nor helped your recovery. it was a confusing time for me too, and i got burned as well, mainly by the hubris of my own hands. in some ways, i'm still recovering, and still live with the memory of scars. but i'm in a process of 'becoming' too and feel like my healing journey began perhaps while in kosovo, but moreso when i came to greece. many new pains and wounds were exposed while there (in kosovo), coming up in unexpected ways. ways that wouldn't let me ignore that fact that i have some life lessons to be learned still. somewhere i wonder if i chose these tests for my own spiritual perfecting. i'm eager to go deeper and find the root of my backwardness - life is too precious to be wasted being lost and wandering in the desert when there's so much to be done. i'll write more again soon - just wanted to share some initial feedback...

A Song For Lady Fish (for Ms. Adalia)

Bim boom ba bimbim we like groovin'
Bim boom ba bimbim we like groovin'
Bim boom ba bimbim we like groovin'

I call her Lady
Like the Day before her
She quien canta her rhythm 'n' blues
With bachata hips knees and heart
Scatting the floor with the groove of her soul

I call her Lady
Like her Mothers before
She who knows the lullabies to soothe baby aches
And can build temples with tiger fire eyes
Like a diamond shines, like glass can shatter,
The wrapping of humanity is in her dance

Lady Fish, Sister Fish
She who swims grace under water, salty waves of tears braid
Grief and laughter into an essence of harmony, watch the Queen in her

I call her Lady, who knows the necessity
Of movement in this
Vast Ocean

Lady Fish, Sister Fish toward iridescent

Bim boom ba bimbim we like groovin'
Bim boom ba bimbim we like groovin'
Bim boom ba bimbim we like groovin'
