I Hope

I will not pray for the pain to be taken away.
This time I will pray for the thorn to be removed.
I will not pray for the emptiness to subside.
This time I will pray for how to fill the holes.
I will not pray for the aching loneliness to be soothed.
This time I will pray for understanding and peace.

I hope I will have the strength and the faith
to actively participate in my healing.
I hope that I don't let the negative thoughts
in my mind arrest my development.
I hope I will never again shed a tear
for a broken heart too easily given.

I hope it is the Will of God that I walk away whole.
I hope it is in the Plan of God for me to step into nobility.
I hope it is the Wish of God that I am finally able to slay my demons.
